Annual Spring Camp at Camp Daniel Boone March 29th - 31st
Come join us for our annual Pack 216 Big Trip at Camp Daniel Boone near Asheville, NC.
When: March 29-31, 2019
Where: Camp Daniel Boone, 3647 Little East Fork Rd, Canton, NC 28716 @ Arrowhead Camp Site
Website: https://www.campdanielboone.org/
Time: Campsite opens at 1pm
Equipment List: pack_216_camping_gear_list.pdf
There are 21 cabins on the site with 2 bunk beds in each cabin. The intent of this trip was to do tent camping, so we are not assigning cabins. I am told there is plenty of room for us to pitch tents. If you wish to claim a cabin, it will be first come first serve. And those arriving early, please no reserving cabins for folks that are not yet there.
For this trip, we will not be having Saturday dinner provided for the entire pack. We will have a stipend for each den to plan a den meal, if you wish. We will discuss the amount at the committee meeting and I'll let you know. Each family should be prepared with enough food for meals and snacks for the weekend. Also, have a backup plan in the event of bad weather and being unable to cook outside.
We will be researching and communicating a hike. Dens can use part of Saturday to complete requirements or electives that have to be done outside. I'll be bringing supplies for kickball and capture the flag. Feel free to plan games and bring other items, like footballs, frisbees, etc.
On Saturday evening, weather permitting, we'll have a campfire program. Dens can spend some time before the camp out or during the camp out practicing a song or a skit. The campfire program at Umstead in the spring was a lot of fun.
If this is your first time camping, feel free to reach out to Jim Clos, Patrick Wise, or any of the den leaders and adults that have been in the pack. We will be glad to provide advice.
Registration Fee: The pack covered the reservation fee.
