Umstead State Park Hike

Come out and join your fellow scouts and families for a relaxing hike through this large and beautiful park that is located in our own backyard.

When and Where
Saturday, July 30th 4PM ET in front of the Park Office
Umstead State Park, Crabtree Creek Entrance
8801 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27617

We will be hiking the Sal’s Branch hike in Umstead off of the Hwy 70 entrance parking area.
This will be a little longer hike at 2.8 miles so please bring extra water and a snack for your Scout.

Class B Uniform
Bring a water bottle and snack.
Recommended good hiking shoes, closed-toed and please apply sunscreen as needed.  


This activity qualifies for the Cub Scout National Summertime Pack Activity Award.  This award is earned by scouts who take part in a Pack activity in each month during the summer (Jun, July, Aug).  For our Pack, that was the Durham Bulls game, Scouting for Food, and THIS HIKE.  Also, council summer/day camps qualify.
