Religious Emblem
Once again we are pleased to offer a Religious Emblems program for our Pack 216 Cub Scouts. Your Scout of any faith may participate.
To encourage members to grow stronger in their faith, religious groups have developed religious emblems programs. The Boy Scouts of America has approved of these programs and allows the emblems to be worn on the official uniform. The various religious groups administer the programs. Each Cub Scout rank includes a religious component and this program counts toward the rank advancement.
Each faith handles the program differently, but they are a workbook-driven, faith-family based experience intended to broaden and deepen a Scouts understanding of his faith, and how he plays an active role in his faith community.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the information on form below. Please contact Karen Varney karenvarney1@gmail.com if you have questions, or if you are looking for information regarding faith-based religious emblems programs.
We will provide guidance on program completion, but there may be additional coordination needed by the family and their faith provider for those wishing to receive/complete their work at places of worship other than St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cary. Upon successful completion of the workbook, the pack will reimburse the cost of the workbook and our Chartered Organization, Knights of Columbus Council 6650, will cover the cost of the religious emblems for all faiths.
Workbooks need to be completed by Scout Sunday, February 12, 2017.
If your scout intends to earn his religious emblem this year, please respond by October 13, 2016.
Please sign up before October 13th
